What is
the flat out worst way to attempt to stop smoking? Willpower!
Willpower swings from being strong to being weak. With a down-day, willpower vanishes. It is not an effective way to stop smoking.
There
are a myriad of methods used to try to stop smoking, like substitutes such as pills, chewing gum, even self-help
tapes. These try to build up the
capacity to quit, by building up strength to abstain.
Hypnosis
does not work this way. It is designed to eliminate the desire to
smoke. Rather than sacrificing an
enjoyment, the hypnosis goal is to
abolish something that is not wanted.
THE TWO MAIN REASONS PEOPLE SMOKE

Identification. Because someone
I admire smokes, I indulge. This is the
most common cause and the easiest to get rid of.
(2)
Replacement. This is sought to
replace something lacking in life - like lack of companionship, love,
acceptance, self-esteem, security, etc.
Sometimes smoking is to replace some pre-existing habit like overeating,
even boredom.
MY APPROACH TO CREATE NON-SMOKERS
Most of
my clients quit smoking forever in one session.
I allow two or more hours with each client to make sure that
happens. I use both Hypnosis and NLP. NLP is a powerful enhancement to my stop smoking
process.
I
encourage my clients to come in for a reinforcement session. This makes it possible for the ex-smoker to
